Story Time In The Park

Back in December 2020 while work on the park was coming to a close, the Friends of Clarksville started collaborating about what our next projects would be. We wanted to build on the theme of Building Community, Restoring Hope and Growing our Future. One of the projects that we were pursuing was to have an afterschool program where we would mentor youth in the community. We planned to provide games, sensory projects, computers for homework, reading and tutoring mentorship. We found it a challenge to secure enough volunteers to adequately and safely meet the requirements, but we are happy to say that we did not give up our dream and are now planning to offer programs in the park during the summer. One of these programs that resulted as part of that brainstorming collaboration back in 2020 was reading to the children, and so "Storytime in the Park" is born.
